About
Broad Street Design Studio is led by R. Kimberley Bruckmann. Kimberley received a Master of Architecture from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Art in Architectural Studies from Rice University. Kimberley began her design career in New Orleans working in an interiors firm and sourcing modern art abroad. Kimberley has earned additional decorative art and art business studies certificates from Sotheby’s Institute, UK. After graduate school, she worked in architecture design firms for 12 years. In 2011, she shifted her design practice focus to specialize in residential interiors with the specialty of art curation under the name Potlatch 30 located in downtown Boulder, Colorado.
In 2020, my family marked new beginnings with my oldest daughter off to college. To be closer to family and oceanside, I moved my firm to Charleston, South Carolina. My new design studio is located in the downtown historic district of Charles Town and respectively, my firm became “Broad Street Design Studio.” Broad Street Design Studio continues to design spaces for the enjoyment of Art.
Community Involvement
Kimberley enjoys being an active member of several cultural and professional organizations. She served on the Volunteer Board of the Denver Art Museum and taught freshman studios with Environmental Design Program, University of Colorado, Boulder. She volunteers services for local and national organizations including Habitat for Humanity in Florida & currently in South Carolina. Kimberley is an active member of Women’s Council @ The Gibbes Museum of Art, Historic Charleston Foundation & Preservation Society of Charleston. She continues to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in downtown Charleston.
